I've always been far more comfortable shooting with animals than people, which is hilarious to me. It's probably because my introduction to the outdoors was through hunting, so I'm decently practiced on how to be and how to put myself in the right place. But a long long time ago I swapped out a rifle for a camera and found that wildlife photography was something I really enjoy. The process of getting out to these locations, the challenges and the risks, just makes the art feel extra special. Endless drives, small planes, long hikes in the dark, early mornings...I had to work hard for all of these photos and I hope to be doing much more of this in the near future.
