A little more about me and what inspires my approach to travel, photography and creativity.......

Hi I'm Rob, a lifelong traveler who loves photography and if you've met me, you know I love telling stories. At this point, I've spent most of my life on the road, visiting more than 40 countries and 45 states. But its never really been about checking boxes for me. When I travel, I like to move slow and stay awhile. Depth of experience only comes with time, so I always challenge myself to be out of my comfort zone for as long as possible. To really capture a place, or a feeling, you need to experience and understand it fully, and that's what I'm usually chasing.
That philosophy led me to the idea that I want to live a thousand lives. I want to do it all. A jack of all trades and a master of none so to speak. My first real job was at a movie theater in North Carolina and I like the think that's where this creative journey and passion for storytelling really began. Since then I've been a raft guide, brick mason, an asphalt worker, a beach hut attendant, a bullfighter, a bellman, an event planner, a business man, a student, a snowshoe hike guide. I've lived on farms and islands, in big cities and small mountain towns and lots of time in tents, campers and Airbnbs.
Through out the years, photography has always been present and one day I hope that I can be a full time photographer. Right now, I'm splitting time between North Carolina and California and focused on laying the groundwork for the next leg of my creative journey. I'm so grateful to have experienced so much of what this world has to offer and for all the support and encouragement my friends and family have given me along the way.
Here are a few values that have guided me along the way.....

Here are a few values that guide me......
Depth over distance
Depth comes with time, there's no way around it. If you're rushed and jumping from place to place trying to check boxes on your bucket list, you're missing the little things that often make the experience special. Time gives you the opportunity to have those experience that give you the perspective that makes great work.
Unifluenced
I work hard to make sure my ideas and my art is uniquely my own. With unlimited information and opinions at our finger tips, it's easy to let follow set paths and travel preconceived ideas about people, places and experiences. Those expectations, more often than not, don't always match up with realty.
Art, not content
My goal is to create art. I want to create images, and sometimes videos, that shows you how I see the world and try to make you feel what I felt. I don't give a fuck about any algorithms and I don't let social media impact my art. I follow my heart and do what inspires me and I try not to get caught up chasing trends.

“To sit alone or with a few friends, half-drunk under a full moon, you just understand how lucky you are; it's a story you can't tell. It's a story you almost by definition, can't share. I've learned in real time to look at those things and realize: I just had a really good moment.”
