A life on the road
Hi I'm Rob, a lifelong traveler who loves photography and being outdoors. At this point, I've spent most of my life on the road, visiting more than 40 countries and 45 states. But its never really been about how many countries I can check off; I follow my genuine curiosity where it leads. That means when I travel, I like to move slow and stay awhile. Depth of experience only comes with time, so I always challenge myself to be fully immersed in a place or an experience and out of my comfort zone for as long as possible. To really capture a place, or a feeling, you need to experience and understand it fully. That's what I'm chasing.

That philosophy and need to experience different things led me to the idea that I want to live a thousand lives. I want to do it all and see it all. A jack of all trades and a master of none so to speak. My first real job was at a movie theater in North Carolina and I like the think that's where this creative journey and passion for storytelling really began. Since then I've been a raft guide, brick mason, an asphalt worker, a beach hut attendant, an amateur bullfighter, a bellman, an event planner, a marketer, a student, a snowshoe hike guide and the list goes on.. I've lived on farms and islands, in big cities and small mountain towns and lots of time in tents, campers and Airbnbs.

Through out the years of adventure, photography has always been present and one day I hope that I can be a full time photographer. Right now, I'm splitting time between North Carolina and California and focused on laying the groundwork for the next leg of my creative journey. I'm so grateful to have experienced so much of what this world has to offer and for all the support and encouragement my friends and family have given me along the way.
Here are a few values that guide me......
"The core of mans' spirit comes from new experiences."
- Into the wild
Depth over distance
Depth comes with time, there's no way around it. If you're rushed and jumping from place to place trying to check boxes on your bucket list, you're missing the little things that often make the experience special. Time gives you the opportunity to have those experience that give you the perspective that makes interesting work.
Uninfluenced
I work hard to make sure my ideas and my art is uniquely my own. With unlimited information and opinions at our finger tips, it's easy to let follow set paths and travel preconceived ideas about people, places and experiences. Those expectations, more often than not, don't always match up with reality.
Art, Not content
My goal for the last decade plus of photography has always been to make art and not get caught in the trap of creating for views, likes and algorithims. I want to make images that show you how I see the world and try to make you feel what I felt and thats different process. Not that one path is better than the other, that's just my approach.
